Lane Borstad, Grande Prairie Regional College

Lane Borstad is Chair of Fine Arts at Grande Prairie Regional College where he teaches Canadian and Twentieth Century Art History. His Masters of Arts thesis at Queen’s University was the first major study of the work of Walter Seymour Allward undertaken. During the course of that research, major holdings of drawings and archival material were discovered and subsequently acquired by Queen’s University Archives and the National Gallery of Canada. His interest in memorials and the Imperial War Graves Commission has resulted in nearly 20 trips to the Western Front- often with students from Grande Prairie Regional College to visit the memorial sites.
